“My students absolutely loved this activity! They were engaged & participating the whole class period. We used this whole group since we are hybrid right now, and even my kiddos at home were loving it. Students that never volunteer to read out loud were volunteering to read the clues. For the next story, a few of my students even suggested I assign them roles & they can act it out like a play! Thank you for taking the time to make this.”

“My grade 8 ELA students struggle with inferencing and citing text evidence. If your students could use more practice, too, then THIS IS FOR YOU! What’s even better, the students don’t even know how hard they’re working–it is so much fun and my students literally BEG to get more clues. I was a bit worried that my students would think that they’re too “cool” for it, but the positive energy and team work prevented any students from thinking this.”

Are you ready to watch your student engagement skyrocket?!  Students will work together to solve the mystery AND practice a variety of academic skills including; inferencing, critical thinking, problem solving, reading comprehension, and much more!  The material is so fun and engaging, students won’t even know they are actually learning! This activity can be used anytime of year and is a fantastic way to get students excited about learning.
